Nigeria’s foremost and frontline hair cream solution provider- Soulmate Industries Limited, are set to plan their first ever Football Talent Hunts programme.
The tip was disclosed exclusively to Sports Intelligence Magazine today by the Managing Director of Soulmate Industries Sir Ndukwe Osogho-Ajala . The hint came during a partnership discussion at their corporate office in Lagos where issues related to the forthcoming Youth Sports Media was discussed.
Sir Ndukwe started by saying: “I hear at times when people say this particular player who plays for the national team started with one or two academies in the country”.
“Each time I hear that comment I say to myself”. “What stops people from saying this player who is playing for one of the national teams is also a product of the Soulmate Academy”?
“We (Soulmate) have what it takes to kick-start a Football Talent Hunt academy in Nigeria. “It will not be a bad idea if this is started to show we are a stakeholder in grassroots sports development”.
“The World is going gaga with football”. “Playing a relevant role towards the development of the round-leather game is not a bad idea” he added.
When asked if the team that will emerge from the Football Talents Hunts programme will play in the Nigeria Premier League or any football competition, the visionary business tycoon replied:
“We do not intend to have the team play in the Nigeria premier league or take part in any competition”. “What we are looking for to is to help discover talents who will one day play for any of our national teams”.
“It will be an honour to us if people say a particular player who plays for one of our national sides or in Europe was discovered at the Soulmate Football Talents Hunts Programme”.
“By January 2020 we are going to be 28 years old”. “Although it appears we will be venturing into the football hunt programme late, but its better late than never” he concluded.
It will be also recalled, that the final of the 4th edition of the Soulmate Champions League football competition was played on Saturday 19th October, 2019 at the Dairy Farm School Complex in Agege.
While Uche FC beat Arukwe United 2-0 to win the male category event, Ngozi Babes defeated Ijeoma Babes by 1-0 to win the female category event for the second time in a row.
However, plans will continue to see how Soulmate Industries will partner with Sports Intelligence Magazine and rediscover talents in area of Sports contents creation in Senior Secondary Schools in Nigeria.
