Sirawoo Salutes Merlo,Wike, Mitchell Over AIPS Exco Congress Hosting Rights

The National President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Mr. Honour Sirawoo has thanked the AIPS World President Gianni Merlo, and AIPS-Africa President Mr. Mitchell Obi for the hosting right given to Nigeria.

Sirawoo who has been a strong advocate for allowing Africa and Nigeria in particular host the AIPS Congress must have heaved a sigh of relief following the development.

According to Sir Honour Sirawoo : “This is another historic occasion for not just Rivers State, but Nigeria and the entire African continent he stated”.

Sirawoo also appreciated the support given by His excellency the Executive Governor of Rivers State Barr. Wike Nyesom, who is also the Power of Sports (POS) of Africa.

According to Nigeria’s number one Sports writer, he stated that : “It is also a recognition of Governor Nyesom Wike’s genuine efforts to promote Sports and Sports Journalism in and Outside Nigeria” he concluded.

Port Harcourt which hosted the Triennial Congress of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria in 2019, will be the second city in Africa, and first in Nigeria to host the global event.
