Jose Mourinho’s hope of delivering a domestic title with Spurs ended in the FA Cup, following 3-2 win on penalties which saw Norwich progress to the quarterfinal stage.
The defeat on Mourinho’s men means Spurs remain without a single title since 2008 when they last won the EFL Cup, despite the sack of Pottechino with Mourinho taking over.
Spurs took the lead with a first half goal, but the visiting side leveled up in the 78th minutes to make the game uncomfortable for the host which eventually ended in penalties after extra time.
The penalties eventually ended in favour of Norwich with a 3-2 win which saw them reach the quarterfinal.
The victory also means Tottenham’s hope of winning a domestic title under Mourinho this season has come to an end, as they will look forward to Europe, where they face an uphill task of overturning a first-leg lead and probably win a silverware .
