Nasarawa Amazons FC central defender Mary Ibadin recently buried her 78-years-old dad in her home town in Uromi, Edo State South-South Nigeria.
The lanky pacy defender who spoke with Sports Intelligence Magazine confirmed the news.
“Yes, my dad died on Saturday and was buried same day” she started. “He has been sick before now and unfortunately he is gone”.
“His death is not in any way connected with the coronavirus” Mary clarified. “But we thank God he lived a fulfilled life”.
Like most sports person, Mary has been observing the lockdown imposed by the covid-19 before the death of her dad. Though she expressed sad feelings on the death of her dad, but she believes that life has to continue.
“What else can I do she asked”. “Life has to continue, I have to move on and hope things get better” she added.
Mary Ibadin who helped her side win the women league in 2017 is still optimistic she will work hard to play in the Super Falcons some day.
