Spanish giants Real and Atletico have joined forces to raise funds for vulnerable families according to Reuters.
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo stated: All of Madrid can unite behind this initiative to help those who are going through a rough time.”
Real President Florentino Perez released a video in which he addressed the issue saying.
“Madrid has once again led the way in unity, sacrifice and resolve. “We are facing one of the most difficult situations in our recent history but we’ll get through it together”.
The two clubs set up the MadridxMadrid (Madrid for Madrid) initiative.. Aimed for the benefit of the most vulnerable people in the society.
One of the most affected countries hit by the pandemic is Spain. Over 27,000 deaths recorded including 8,000 in Madrid.
