Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that his side will not defend it next season. Rather, they will attack.
Klopp who was quoted by BBC Sport said: “”We will not defend the title next season; we’ll attack the next one”.
“I have learned when you think you have reached the pinnacle, you are already on the way down.”
The Reds won their first premier league title in 30 years with seven more matches left. But Klopp believes that the league would become tougher next season.
“City will be strong next season, [Manchester] United will be strong next season, Chelsea will be strong,” Klopp said.
“It’s obvious City is an outstanding team, United is in outstanding shape and Chelsea is in a really good shape and doing some interesting business.”
Liverpool will face dethroned champions Manchester City on Thursday at Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola had also stated that his team will honour Liverpool by giving them a guard of honour before the match.
