Aubameyang became the hero tonight after he became the first African player to captain an FA Cup winning side.
The Gabonese who wore jersey number 14 scored twice as Arsenal won their 14th FA Cup title inside an almost empty Wembley Stadium.
In the 26′ minutes of play, the Gabonese was brought down in the 18-yard-box. He led by example and converted the spot kick to level up for Gunners before half time.
In the second half of play, he dribbled Chelsea’s Zouma in the 18-yard-box to flip the ball past goalkeeper Willy Caballero in 67th minute. Interestingly, it was Arsenal’s only shot on target in the second half, and also the winning goal.
Aside scoring twice, he emerged as the man of the match in the final clash. His brace ensures Arsenal pick the automatic Europa Cup League slot.
