Former NFA member and Chairman of the Gombe State Football Association Mallam Gara Gombe has stated that he does not trust any of the agencies investigating corruption in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Mallam Gara Gombe stated this during an interactive session on the Football Gist and News Whatsapp Platform anchored by Joseph Odoekwu of Sports Intelligence Magazine.
When prompted with the question “Do you trust many of those investigating agencies of government for justice?
“Honestly speaking, not at all, on this trust of the agencies of the government, I don’t think I trust them” he started.
“So far, the only person who did a great job was Obono-Obla. Unfortunately, he could not complete what he started”.
“Though he succeeded in arraigning them (NFF) before the court, but they refused to appear in Court. Before he now found himself in a messy allegation against him which made the government to disband his committee (Presidential Committee on the recovery of public property).
“Perhaps, it was because it was an ad-hoc committee and that was why he was able to do what he was able to do”.
“But all the other committees investigating corruption charges against the NFF have so far not given us any course that they are doing the right thing” he concluded.
