Chika Chukwumerije has called for financial support to enable Elizabeth Anyanacho make her debut at the Tokyo Olympic games.
In a statement issued by the three-time Olympian, it read: “Elizabeth Anyanacho: is the second woman ever to qualify Nigeria for the Olympics in the Taekwondo event, and the first woman in 16 years [since Athens 2004 Olympics].
“It is amazing how far we have come with individual efforts”. “Just imagine how far we could go with your support and resources”.
The Beijing 2008 bronze medalist who went online to seek support of at least N5000 or more for the athlete also made her bank account details available for those who will be magnanimous to do so.

The 21-year-old was discovered at the age of 15, and trained for three years before qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.
Chukwumerije further described her as “a great and inspirational story”, who will be on the podium.
The Tokyo Olympics is a few month from now, and Elizabeth will be hoping to do the nation proud by winning a medal at the global event.
