Three Nigerian Para Table Tennis are participating at the world Paralympics
The players who departed Nigeria shores Tuesday night with Turkish airline at exactly 8.45 pm Nigeria time include, ,Faith Obiorah, Francis Chukwuemeka and Nasiru Sule.
The trio are under the supervision of Coach Sunday Odebode of the Para-table tennis fame and Popularly referred to as able consultant. The championship which runs from June 2-6 is the last stage of the Olympic qualifiers.
Chairman of the Para-table tennis division, Anderson Bankole, a Commissioner of police who disclosed this on Lagos , said he is optimistic that the athletes will put up a good fight in Slovenia by picking up Tokyo 2020 Paralympic tickets for the country, considering Nigerian’s pedigree in global table tennis.
It is on record that Nigeria has already qualified six Para+Table-Tennis players for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games prior to the Slovenia championship which is the last stage of the qualifiers .
Those already through include Tajudeen Agunbiade, Femi Talabi, Koleosho Ahmed,, Ogunkunle Isau, Faith Obazuaye and Victor Farinloye
