Aruna Quadri, one of the best table tennis players in the world will be making his third appearance at the Olympic Games as he will be competing in the singles event in Tokyo.
Aruna did a yeoman’s job at the Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil with his performance and thus became the first African to reach the quarterfinal of the games. He will have his hands full with the best in the sport including his compatriot, Omotayo Olajide who was a thorn in his flesh at the African Games in Rabat, Morocco.
In a chat with NOCMedia, Aruna Quadri said; “I knew a year ago that I will qualify for the Tokyo games with my world ranking. The news of my qualifications was not a surprise to me. I was so happy and excited that I will play in the Olympic Games again. My expectations are to be a good ambassador for the country, my sponsor and family and give my 100% for the country”.
The Nigeria Olympic Committee wish you success in your endeavours at the games.
