A Federal High Court in Lagos shall seek to know if the President of the Rugby Federation who is the 2nd defendant in an FOI Act suit against the Rugby Federation has been served.
The new date confirmed for the report on service is September 30th, 2021, counsel to the applicant Barr. Nwobodu confirmed to Sports Intelligence Magazine
.Recall that the case was previously adjourned to May 19th , 2021 but because the court had not been in session, the case was not heard.If confirmed, the court will now proceed to serve the defendants a notice of hearing informing them of the next date and what the business of that day will be.“Once the court confirms that he has received the notice, we will take a date for the hearing of our originating motion” Nwobodo Esq. added.It will be recalled that this writer made a two-page FOI Act request to the President of Nigeria Rugby Football Federation.The request sought to get detailed information on how the Rugby Federation bankrolled a rented apartment suspected to cost N5m per annum but the request was ignored.The applicant is praying the court to to compel the President of the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation to comply with the provisions of the Act.
