Former English player and Football Pundit Alan Shearer and six other BBC Pundits has predicted that Chelsea will win the 2021/2022 Premier league title.
The pundits made their predictions available in a BBC Sport Pundits Pick Their Top Four programme, which had 20 pundits submit their predictions.
The other six BBC pundits who toed the path of Shearer are Fara Williams, Sue Smith, Chris Sutton, Rachel Brown-Finnis, Matthew Upson and Rob Green.
Interestingly, Manchester City was picked by 13 of the remaining pundits to win the title with Nedum Onuoha, Michael Brown, Martin Keown, Micah Richards, Stephen Warnock, Danny Murphy and Mark Lawrenson all tipping City.
Others who also tipped Manchester City’s are Ashley Williams, Clinton Morrison, Pat Nevin, Leon Osman, Lindsay Johnson and Jermaine Beckford.
The predictions were made on Tuesday August 12 with five teams featuring in the forecasted top fours, but only City, United and Chelsea feature in all 20.
In terms of who will win the title, Man City are favourites, with 13 votes. Chelsea got seven, while the highest anyone thinks United or Liverpool will finish is second.
The overall predicted ranking gives a similar outcome with Man City (72 points), Chelsea (62 points), Man Utd (33 points), Liverpool (32 points) and Leicester City (1 point).
Chelsea started off the season with a classical win, beating Crystal Palace 3-0 to add credence to the predictions made by Shearer and others.
