Nigeria’s Bose Omolayo clinched gold in the 79kg event to become the second gold medalist of Nigeria at the Tokyo Paralympics games. She also set a new Paralympic record of 141kg in the 79kg.
The gold is Nigeria’s fourth medal at the Games and interestingly all of the four have come from Powerlifting.
The 32-year-old who is from Igbuzor also won Gold at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio and three years later followed with another gold medal winning feat in Kazakhstan at the World Championships
Omolayo won Gold in Tokyo, while Natalila Oliinyk (Ukraine) won the Silver and Vera Vera (China) settled for the Bronze medal.
