National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) Rev. (Amb) Samuel Ikpea has heaped praises on the Super Eagles of Nigeria following their 2-0 win over Central Africa Republic (CAR) in Douala, Cameroon in the second-leg World Cup Qualifier.
CAR beat Nigeria 1-0 in the first-leg in Lagos, and a second-leg victory would have raised their hope”. “But the Eagles flew high in Douala to secure a 2-0 away victory.
“It was wonderful and this shows superiority” Ikpea started. “The Super Eagles have proved that they are more superior and this is good”.
Fans are happy with the result, and we are hopeful to be in Qatar 2022 World Cup” he added.
“When they (CAR) beat us in the first-leg by 1-0 at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, there were lots of speculations”. “Some fans felt the second-leg would be the same but I was optimistic and told them that the Eagles would rise at Douala.
“The 2-0 victory has shown the typical fighting spirit which the Super Eagles and Nigerian teams are noted for”. “It has also proved to everyone that the Eagles have what it takes to land in Qatar next year for the World Cup”.
“With this victory the Super Eagles are nine points on top, and our hope of qualifying for Qatar 2022 is gradually manifesting”.
Rev. Samuel Ikpea who was glad with the development also congratulated Ahmed Musa for hitting the centurion cap with the team in that match, and charged other teammates to emulate him in his commitment.
