AIPS Holds Emergency Executive Committee Meeting Over Russia Invasion of Ukraine

Executives Committee members of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) this afternoon held an emergency executive meeting to appraise the lingering issue of Russia invasion of Ukraine.

President of AIPS Africa Chapter Mr. Mitchell Obi who disclosed this on the AIPS African platform (RENDEZVOUS AIPS AFRICA) said the emergency meeting was conveyed by AIPS President Gianni Merlo on short notice.

According to Obi, the meeting was held on zoom and it had in attendance members from across the globe including AIPS Vice President Nikolai Dolgopolov from Russia.

Although the outcome of the meeting was not disclosed, but an optimistic Obi assured African Journalists that the Association will react appropriately in due course..

The news of Russia invasion hit the world today with several reports suggesting that the sporting would be affected due to the crises.

Ukraine have however suspended all sporting activities according to an earlier report by this medium in which the AIPS was cited with a Youth match between Mnaj and Zorya postponed.
