East End Lions Chairlady, Mrs. Asmaa James, has been appointed as the board Chairlady of the newly formed Women Premier League Board.
She has been appointed to run the league together with 6 other women from all walks of life, to run the two legs elite female league in the country for the first time after a while.
The unveiling ceremony was held at the Sierra Leone Football Association Conference Hall, Kingtom in Freetown Friday March 28,2022.
The female league will cater for all the regions across the country with about 12 teams to compete for the championship title.
Asmaa has been a great contributor and football fanatic over the years, her role as Chairlady at East End Lions FC and as a former member of the 2019/20 Sierra Leone Premier League board has prepared her for the task ahead.
She is a passionate women and girls champion and a seasoned journalist who has been practicing journalism over a decade.

Asmaa James is not a new kid on the block when it comes to administration, the evidences are there in terms of results.
She is the Station Manager of Radio Democracy 98.1FM, one of the most listened to media houses in Sierra Leone.
Madam James is also the founder of Girls+ and Asmaa James Foundation an organization that is purely meant for assisting women and adolescent girls.
For over eight years female players have been calling on the Sierra Leone football Association to organize a female football league as they are very important too, now with the appointment of Asmaa James it is like a dream come true for their call.
Speaking on the unveiling ceremony, Asmaa James pointed out some of the moves that her board members and herself have embarked on even before the unveiling and one of which is to solicit funds from banks and other corporate houses to support the teams. And According to her, the responses have been positive.
She called on everyone to support the Women’s Premier League Board to achieve the good things they are about to start.

The President for the Sierra Leone football Association Thomas Daddy Brima assured the female premier league Board of government and the FA’s fullest support with 2.5 Billions Leones for the time being
