Deadline for media accreditation of World Athletics Championships Oregon22 Draw Close

The deadline to apply for media accreditation for the World Athletics Championship is 6 May according to a statement issued by the World Athletics. The statement reads:

We would like to remind written press journalists and photographers wishing to cover the World Athletics Championships Oregon22, to be held from 15-24 July 2022, that they can register for media accreditation online.

In order to access the World Athletics online media accreditation system, written press journalists and photographers will need a specific access code. Should you wish to attend and do not have an access code, please contact your national athletics federation. Please note that media country quotas are applied for World Athletics Championships.

Media accommodation

Please note that the media accommodation deadline has now passed, and that Comfort Inn & Suites Springfield, Comfort Suites Eugene, Quality Inn & Suites and Hampton Inn are now fully booked. There is still limited availability at Hamilton Hall.

If you require accommodation, please contact the Accommodation Team of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) at: accommodation@worldchampsoregon22.com so that they may assist you with your request.

Please also note that all requests will now be managed on a case-by-case basis and that availability is not guaranteed. The accommodation team will, however, do all they can to assist you in this process.

A full deposit will be required to be paid to secure your accommodation. The LOC will issue the invoice and charge the deposit only after the accreditation request has been approved by World Athletics.

Reservations are subject to a minimum stay of seven nights and requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The payment policies are defined in the accommodation request form.

Finally, please note that all accredited participants at the event (media representatives included) are required to provide proof of vaccination. Medical protocol for national and international media will be defined at a later date.
