Oshoala had earlier equaled her fellow compatriot Perpetua Nkwocha’s fourth CAF Women’s Player of the Year Award at the 2019 Awards Gala. But today she has emerged as the sole record holder for the most award
wins in the continent.

Despite suffering injury issues for three months last season, she finished top scorer in the Liga Iberdrola with 20 goals in 19 appearances to become the first African to win the Pichichi award in Spain.

Her goals also helped her Barcelona team achieve the incredible feat of winning all 30 league games in their domestic division in the season.

Sadly, injury sent Oshoala out prematurely from the WAFCON 2022 in Morocco after suffering an ankle injury in Nigeria’s opener against Banyana Banyana which they lost by 2-1.
