The paramount ruler of the Yoruba kingdom, His Imperial Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi the Ooni of Ife, has told the National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) Rev. (Amb) Samuel Ikpea and some members that they are a great.
The Ooni of Ife said this while receiving Rev. Samuel Ikpea and members of the NFSC after they led a 14-man delegation of Santos Football Club of Brazil to his Royal Palace in Ile-Ife Osun State, South-West Nigeria.
“You are great Rev. Ikpea” he started. You brought Santos FC management from Brazil to Nigeria, and also ensured they came to my Palace, this shows that you and NFSC are great”.
“Since the plans for Santos FC to visit Nigeria started, you have not rested and now the dream of having them arrive my palace has been accomplished, it shows that you and your members must be great”.
The Oba further prayed for Rev. Samuel Ikpea and members of the NFSC for identifying that football can be used as a tool to break the barriers in culture appreciation and further encouraged them not to get tired of doing that which they are doing with football.
