One of Nigeria Professional Football League sides, Abia Warriors, have reacted to mischievous videos and pictures making round on social media and suggesting that their stadium does not meet the required standard to host NPFL matches.
A statement from the Media Officer of the Club , Chigozie Nwosu, described the videos as works of mischief makers who are practically surprised with the progress the club is making in the early stage of the abridged NPFL 2022/2023 season.
The statement confirmed that prior to the beginning of the new season, the Umuahia Township Stadium was inspected by the IMC and certified fit after massive renovation and revamp of facilities were done by the club’s management.

In fact, the club’s spokesperson further hinted that the videos and pictures being circulated are not true photographs of the Umuahia Township Stadium, just as they advised the public to disregard those images and videos.
So far, Abia Warriors have won two of their last two matches beating Rangers International in Enugu and Bayelsa United at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The Umuahia based club is looking forward to finish top of the table at the end of the abridged NPFL 2022/2023 season.
