Lobi Stars F.C rose from their first match loss to defending champions Rivers United in Port Harcourt, to inflict a second defeat on Rangers International.
It was a tough one for the Ortom Boys, who held ambitious Rangers to a goalless first half draw before securing the only goal of the match in the 83rd minute, to secure their first win in the new season.
The win also extended their winning streak against Rangers at the Aper Kum Stadium in Makurdi to 12, as Rangers are yet to get a win in Makurdi.
Rangers, who lost their first match of the season to Abia Warriors, are now in pain of a second loss and have been condemned to the bottom of the table after two matches.
Meanwhile, in Aba, the People’s Elephant, Enyimba of Aba were compelled to a goalless draw by visiting Akwa United, who salvaged their first point after losing 2-0 to Bendel Insurance in their first match.
