NPFL Match Day 3: Akwa United Secures First Victory In 2022/2023 Season

Former NPFL Champions, Akwa United, have secured their first victory in the 2022/2023 season with a resounding 3-0 away victory against Nasarawa United.

 

A first-half goal in the 43rd minute by James Ajako gave the visiting side the lead before the break, before coming back to finish the game in the second-half.

Ndifereke Effiong scored twice in the second half, in the 47th and 74th minute respectively,  to ensure the 2020/2021 champions sealed away victory in the game.

 

The win extends their dominance over Nasarawa United to two in a row, after losing on this same soil on January 2, 2022.

Akwa United now have four points from their last three matches and will hope to improve on that in their next match.
