The management and technical crew of Nasarawa United FC have gotten a three-match ultimatum following their poor performance since the new season started.
A 3-0 homes loss on Sunday to former Champions Akwa United also facilated the new development.
The mandate which came from the governor of the state His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule was made known by the state commissioner for Youth and Sports Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa during an emergency meeting between Management of the Ministry and Nasarawa United FC which took place at the Conference Hall of the Ministry on Monday in Lafia.
A statement in part which was issued by the Media Officer of the club after the meeting reads:
“Consequently, we are placing the management and Coaching staff of the Club on a three-match requisition, beginning from the Club’s next match away to Gombe United FC, on Sunday 29th January, 2023.
“The other two matches are against Plateau United on Wednesday, 1st February, at home, and Shooting Stars on Sunday, 5th February, 2023, in Ibadan, Oyo State”.
“We hope that this prompt measure by the Government will help return our team to their glorious status in the league this campaign, failure of which may leave the Government with the option of taking further drastic measures”.
Presently, Nasarawa United who are in group A of the abridged league are at the bottom of the table with no point after three matche.
