The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has insisted that everyone involved in sabotaging the efforts of the ministry leading to a blackout at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday night when the Super Eagles were training must be dealt with.
It was a shameful moment on Tuesday night when the training session of the Super Eagles of Nigeria ended prematurely due to darkness and this made the three-time African Champions not have ample sessions.
The Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, who frowned darkly on the ugly incident, said in a chat with BSN Sports on Thursday that he has demanded a detailed report on what led to national team training in the darkness, insisting that everyone involved in sabotaging the ministry’s efforts leading to national embarrassment will be dealt with appropriately.
“I have asked for a detailed report on what happened leading to Super Eagles training in total darkness.” “I gave them a deadline for the submission.” He added.
“That’s unacceptable. Those who are involved in such national embarrassment will not go scot-free. “In fact, heads must roll,” he concluded.
The three-time African champions will face Guinea Bissau in a 2023 African Nations Cup qualifier at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja at 5:00pm on Friday, while Monday, March 27, is fixed for the second leg at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau.
