The President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Benjamin has charged members of the association covering the 7th National Youth Games going on in Asaba, Delta State to be professional in their coverage of the event.
Benjamin made the call in a statement through his media aide Okpani Jacob Onjewu, during an interactive session with members, at the Media Centre of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, on Saturday September 23, 2023.
“I want to first of all thank God for bringing us all here safely for this 7th edition of the NYG. I want to commend you all for the massive publicity you have given the games so far and urge you to keep up the tempo.
“However, I must appeal to all to be factual in your reports as professional sports writers,” he said.
The statement further reads that: “With unity, we can make solid progress. I urge us all to be united in our various state chapters, ” he charged.
“As your leaders, we are committed to giving your welfare and protection priority, together in unity we are stronger” he stressed.
