The Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) has set up a Local Organising Committee to plan for her members trip ahead of the forthcoming 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tagged 2023 AFCON which takes place in Ivory Coast next year Sports Intelligence Magazine reports.
The 11-man Committee set up by the apex supporters club in Nigeria, was on Thursday inaugurated by the National Chairman of the Club Rev (Amb) Samuel Ikpea during the club’s general meeting at the National Secretariat in Surulere, Lagos.
Inaugurating the Committee, Ikpea charged them to be focused and bear in mind that the committee was inaugurated exactly 100 days to the continental showpiece which kicks off by January 13, 2024 in Ivory Coast.
“This Committee is been inaugurated exactly 100 days to AFCON” Ikpea started. “You have a task to deliver and so you have to be focused”
“You are expected to plan for members travelling, accommodation, logistics and every other protocols that would be needed to ensure that we have a successful outing at the forthcoming AFCON”.
“We have a task as a club, and that task is to ensure we drum support for the Super Eagles of Nigeria when they go out to pursue their fourth continental title in Ivory Coast next year”. “So the committee will have to identify and liaise with all necessary stakeholders to ensure that the event is successful” Ikpea told our correspondent.
Members of the committee who were inaugurated and saddled with the task are Nnadozie Denise Okechukwu (Chairman) and Oluwayemisi James(Secretary). Other members of the Committee are Eronmosele Famous Omolongbe , Isaac Eromose James, Salau Enesi Ahmed, Adesegun Olufemi Adeboye, Chioma Onoka, Fashola Olayiwola, Adedeji Scott Esubiyi, Hon. Udoye Kenneth and Ekeogu Emeka.
