The National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC), Rev. (Amb) Samuel Ikpea has stated that the Super Eagles will not find it easy when they file out against the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire in Abidjan next year January in their quest for a fourth continental title.

Ikpea who disclosed this exclusively to Sports Intelligence Magazine, while reacting on the just concluded AFCON draws which took place in Abidjan, where Nigeria will be face hosts country Cote D’Ivoire in group A, said the Super Eagles newly adopted mantra of “Let’s Do It Again” will play a vital role.

“It was an exciting draw, and I see a tough encounter between Nigeria and hosts nation Cote D’Ivoire” Ikpea started.  “While we will be seeking to secure our fourth title, the Elephant of Cote D’Ivoire will also be seeking to win their third title”

“On our side, we (NFSC) are doing our best to mobilize support and ensure we come out in large numbers, so we can give the Super Eagles of Nigeria massive support as they seek to accomplish this task” Ikpea maintained.

“Although the Super Eagles will be playing against the home crowd on that day, they will soar above them and avoid the tramples of the Elephants and I want them to aim at finishing top of the group”. Ikpea added.

“Also, the team must not underrate Guinea Bissau and Equatorial Guinea who are the other teams in the group Ikpea advised. They must play every match as if it is a final”.

Ikpea also stated that while the club is preparing for the continental showpiece, they are also seeking support from stakeholders who wish to support their trip to Abidjan as the NFSC have an existing committee planning towards the success of their trip.
