The 36th edition of the Dala Hard Court Tennis Championship in Kano Club Nigeria, has gotten date following the approval of the Nigerian Tennis Federation.
According to a statement made available on the NOC Media Platform by Malikawa, it stated that the Director of the tournament Dr. Yusuf Datti while briefing newsmen on the preparations of the tournament said November 10-12 has been approved.
The statement further reads that  “Dr. Yusuf Datti said they seek the advised of the Nigerian Tennis Federation to invite the first twenty men and ten ladies ranked players into the main draw of the event.
The Director said over one hundred players are expected to attend the tournament within and outside the country. The preliminaries will hold between 10-12 November 2023 and the main draw will commence on Monday 13th November, 2023.
The organizing  committee will provide accommodation and feeding to both National officials and players.
Dr. Yusuf Datti added that at the end of the tournament the men’s winner will pocket one million Naira while in the ladies category the winner will pocket five hundred thousand Naira.
He appreciated the sponsors which includes Dr. Aliko Dangote, first Bank, fidelity bank, wacot limited, Makaman Bichi Alhaji Isyaku Umar Tofa OON  Turakin Gumel in Jigawa State Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano among others.
He said Kano State governor Eng. Abba Kabir Yusuf is expected to  be special quest of honour at the opening and closing ceremony of the championship.
