The Super Eagles of Nigeria today defeated the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in a FIFA World Cup qualifier to claim the sum of N20million promised the team by Air Peace Chairman Allen Onyema. The match which was played at Aderito Sena Stadium in Cape Verde saw the host take the lead in 20 minutes of play from Tavares goal. However, they failed to hold on to their lead as Osimhen converted a rebound from goalkeeper Vozinha in the 30th minutes to level up before half time. The second half continued with lots of hopes for both sides, as they made series of goal attempts totaling at 7, with four coming from the host and three  from Nigeria. However, Rocha Santos betrayed the home side, as the Super Eagles secured a goal from his own goal at 76 minutes. Efforts made to level up proved abortive as the Super Eagles held on to the lead till end of time. The victory means Super Eagles go top of of group c with maximum six points from two matches, while Liberia who got a victory against Central Africa trail with three points.
