Former Super Eagles captain, Kanu Nwankwo has come out to react to purported stories linking him with campaigning for a presidential candidate ahead of the forthcoming Presidential election which comes up on February 25, 2023 in Nigeria.
In a video made by Papilo himself and circulated to correct the news which he described as being fake and wicked, Kanu stated that:
“My country people…. Yes, you know what it is, I will say it and say it again”. “I am not a politician, I am a footballer”. “Whoever is there spreading fake news about me that I asked Nigerians to vote for someone is not true”.
“I don’t do this, my life is all about football. Please stop spreading wicked fake news about Papilo, don’t destroy what you cannot destroy”, “Go and get your PVC and vote for the best candidate. You know who the best candidate is. Stop spreading fake and wicked news about me” .
The former African footballer of the year who has been involved in humanitarian work also maintained that he will continue to support charity work as this is his area of interest.
