I am a woman, I was born that way.
That is why I am unique, humble, smart, and intelligent.
Yes I find myself in a male dominated industry (sport), but that does not mean I should not ask critical questions; and take up issues that many are afraid to take.
The boldness and strength I have put in such a dominated male society, and yet I held is like a clash of the titans.
I came, I saw, and I conquered so many challengeable battles.
I am a strong believer of equality.
I need a safe space to do my job as a female sport Journalist without intimidation and verbal abuse.
The truth is, I want to wake up every morning with a smiling face hoping that I will project in an arena occupied by vicious men.
I am Hawa Dauda. Fearless and unapologetic to inequalities. I choose to take this path not because I want to but society made me to. Don’t we have a voice? Or is it only on papers? I will use my space to rewrite the script.

As we commemorate International Women’s Day, what are we celebrating in sport as females in this discipline?
When I look around all the sporting disciplines, all I see on the faces of our beautiful women are agony, frustration, lack of basic necessities and limited platforms to showcase their unique potentials.
How can we changed this narrative? Our voice must not show up on celebration’s days only.We should not rest for we are strong and bold.Yes we can!
