So far, 30 home-based players had commenced training sessions since Monday 6th March at the Training Pitch 2 of the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.
But report gathered from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) indicates that invitations were sent to foreign-based players earlier this week to fortify the team ahead of the encounter.
However an inside source who spoke on grounds of anonymity, confirmed that no foreign-based player was in camp as of 11:00 am Thursday while he suggests that the situation may change from Friday.
Previous experiences have revealed that foreign-based players have had issues with their clubs releasing them for Olympics related games, but the Federation seems hopeful that things could turn around. The Nigeria Olympic Eagles will face Guinea U23 national team in the last round of the CAF U23 African Nations Cup next Wednesday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium while the return leg holds a few days later.
