Former Sports Administrator, Alex Akinyele, Passes On

Nigeria’s former Sports Administrator Chief Alex Akinyeleis dead. The demise was announced by his son, Constantine Kayode Akinfolarin on Thursday night via facebook.

The message read: “With thanksgiving for his life, I am sad to announce we lost our father and grand-father, Chief Alexander Opeyemi Akinyele earlier today after a brief illness. May his soul rest in peace. He will be missed by his children and grand-children,

Akinyele was the first ever chairman of the National Sports Commission. Aside being the NSC boss, Akinyele was also the information minister and Chairman, National Orientation Movement.

Akinyele who was born on April 24, 1938 died at the age of 81. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
