Princess Ugonwaezeh-Agugo who is the mother of 9-year old rugby star Zikora Mildred has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Anambra State Rugby Association. Her appointment was borne out of her Intelligence, commitment, dedication and passion for the development of the game of rugby, a feat which she has transferred to her little nine-year-old daughter who is now the captain of the Anambra rugby U-15 team. Moreso, she introduced rugby into Anambra State and is the founder of Princess Amazon Rugby club which she is also a proud sponsor. Aside becoming the number one citizen for Rugby in Anambra State, the fair-skinned pretty Princess who is also a member of the Great Asaba Sports Club won the South East Zonal Representative election which also took place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu yesterday. She defeated Ugochukwu Anunobi of Abia State in a keenly contested poll that saw her grab 3 of the 5 votes amongst Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu to become the South-East Zonal representative. Princess Ugonwaezeh-Agugo also hinted Sports Intelligence Magazine of her desire to give rugby a face-lift in Anambra and the South East States as a whole. But also appealed that corporate sponsorship from organizations and individuals will go a long way in helping the game of rugby pick up in the South East states and the nation as a whole. Recall that Princess Ugonwaezeh-Agugo was appointed as a member of the Rugby Africa earlier this year. Her experience at the Continental level will play a significant role in her new position.
