ANFSC Fails To Justify Claims Made That Pinnick Is Best For FIFA Council Seat

The Authentic Nigeria Football Supporters Club (ANFSC) has failed to provide further information which justifies their claims that NFF President Amaju Pinnick is the best candidate for the FIFA Council seat.

On Thursday, January 28, 2021 the Media Officer of the ANFSC Mr. Harrison issued a publication on the NIGERIA SPORTS CENTRE whatsapp platform titled “Amaju Pinnick The Best For FIFA Council Seat- ANFSC Boss, Prince Abayomi”.

The publication seemed not to have gone down well with some, but this writer probed the Media Officer of ANFSC to kindly enumerate the achievements of the NFF President as this could add credence to the publication.

The Media Officer of ANFSC went mute on the request , while another group of persons felt there was no way he could provide such information.

On Friday, January 29, 2021 this writer further drew the attention of the Media Officer of ANFSC to same publication , asking him to enumerate the achievements of Pinnick but he chose not to respond on the platform.

At exactly 12:06 this writer put a call across to the Media Officer of ANFSC to seek further details on the achievements of Amaju Pinnick which made the Supporters club boss describe him as the best for FIFA Council seat.

The Media Officer responded by saying “To start with, this question ought to be directed to Prince Ogunjimi”.

“Prince Ogunjimi said it, not me” he clarified. “It was Ogunjimi that said it and not Harrison the Media Officer” “It is what he said that I have published”.

This writer probed further to ask “As the Media Officer, don’t you think it is proper to have an idea of the achievements before publishing?, the Media Officer had to cut off the phone conversation.

In the bid to give credence to this publication, this writer further contacted the President of the Authentic Nigeria Football Supporters Club Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi on phone to give further details as requested.

The situation however got heated as Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi blasted: “Go to the archive and check”!!. “Google and check!!” “Go to the archive and see his achievement”.

“This writer further called the attention of Prince Ogunjimi to the fact that under Amaju Pinnick Super Eagles failed to qualify for two consecutive African Cup of Nations, while the Nigeria’s male and female Olympics football team both failed to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics as well.

Furthermore, Algeria broke her over 20 years winning jinx with Nigeria by beating her in the semifinal to win the AFCON title which they last won as host in 1990 he told the ANFSC boss.

“Have you checked the archive and see the good things he has done?” Pince Ogunjimi blasted again. “Why have you only seen the failures of Amaju? ” ‘ Go and check and see the good things he has achieved” . I am currently driving now and I can’t talk further he ended.

For a football nation like Nigeria, when one is described as the best, his achievements must be at the tip of our fingers. But ANFSC has been unable to provide details that will substantiate their claims that Amaju is the Best for the FIFA Council seat.
