The Chairman of Anambra State Football Association (AnSFA), Chikelue Iloenyosi, has stated that all the 11 aspirants contesting for the position of the NFF President have the capacity to deliver if elected.
Iloenyosi, who is a former Super Eagles defender, disclosed this to newsmen during the 77th NFF Congress election which took place at the Best Western Hotel in Lagos. “Everybody that has come out for the position of the President of the NFF has the capacity”. “It is about having a love for soccer and also convinces the delegates about why you have to be there". "So that people can vote for you and we make sure football in Nigeria comes out stronger”. When prompted on who his choice of candidate for the next President of the NFF would be, he insisted that he would not want to talk about it as it remains personal to him. Iloenyosi, who also noted that the congress was a huge success, did not fail to mention that he was also contesting to become a board member of the NFF representing the South East Zone. He also hinted at his plans to make Anambra state a model for grassroots football development by making the U13 and U15 age grades vibrant and productive in the state. Iloenyosi, who was declared as the rightful Anambra State Football Association Chairman, remains the first ex-international to become a Chairman of the State FA.
