High Chief Kenneth Uchenna Uzoigwe has pledged his continuous support for sports development after his recognition as Patron of the Ndi-Igbo in APC-Surulere yesterday in Lagos.

The honour which was bestowed on him by the ruling party in Lagos State and the nation as a whole had in attendance Ndi-Igbo APC party members as they trouped to his Surulere office to grace the occasion. Chief Uzoigwe, the Osike 1 of Isuochi, Abia State who was in high spirit after receiving the award disclosed exclusively to Sports Intelligence Magazine in a chat today that it is a new beginning.

“I feel good and it is a great honour to be the patron of Ndi-Igbo in APC Surulere,” he started. “I am very glad because it is something we can handle”. “We have been doing so much to contribute towards the development of sports in Nigeria, and I believe that this award would compel me to do more”.

“When it comes to the issue of sports in Nigeria, our support towards its development speaks immensely for us” he added. “We have given support on the African Footballer Award and the likes of Asisat Oshoala to mention but a few have benefited from it”. Chief Osike who is also an ambassador of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club did not fail to add that the AFCON 2021 and the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup would also afford him an opportunity to rally round with the Supporters Club and give the Super Eagles the needed support that would propel them to success.
