The Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Bafana Bafana of South Africa 2-1 to reach the semifinals at the 32nd African Cup of nations taking place in Egypt.

Chuwkueze opened scoring at 27th minutes to put the Super Eagles in the lead which they sustained until half time.

Zungu's 71st minutes equalizer was initially disallowed. But VAR replay showed it was Ighalo who last touched the ball before Zungu's touch. Hence the goal stood and gave the South Africans a ray of hope.

However it was Troost-Ekong's 89th minutes goal that made the difference. Sending the Super Eagles to their 15th semifinals in the African Cup of nations.

The feat means Nigeria become the second nation after Egypt to reach the semifinals of the African Cup of nations 15 times.

Nigeria will face the eventual winner between Algeria and Ivory Coast in the second Semifinal on Sunday.
