Lagos State Taekwondo Association shall absorb the raw talents discovered during the second edition of the WTA U-15 Championship which took place recently in Lagos.
The statement was disclosed to newsmen by Mr. Bamidele Kazeem, head coach of the Lagos State Taekwondo Association during the one-day Championship which took place on Saturday May 29th at the NIS Gymnasium of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
“We have seen raw talents here and it is very important we take it up and invite them to the Lagos State Taekwondo team” Bamidele started.
“We will further prepare them to represent Lagos State during the next National Youth Games which comes up in Ilorin, Kwara State next year” he added.
When asked about the future of Nigerian Taekwondo at the Olympics going by the championship organized by White Bird Taekwondo Academy, Bamidele said:
“The championship is a stepping stone, there is an improvement from the first edition and with this, we can groom the young ones ahead of the Olympics which is the ultimate tournament for any fighter” he concluded.
The WTA U-15 Championship is an annual Taekwondo Championship organized by White Bird Taekwondo Academy for students, pupils of schools within Lagos and her environs.
