Nigerian football community has been thrown into another bout of mourning as NPFL side Bendel Insurance lost its goalkeeper, Umar Ahmad Jalingo after a brief illness.

According to a statement credited to the team's media, Kehinde Osagiede, the player was discharged from the hospital, Wednesday, before his death this morning (Thursday).
In a quick reaction to the sad news, the National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers (NANPF, in statement signed by its NANPF's President, Tijani Babangida, MON, and released by its General Secretary, Comrade Austin Popo, it described the news as sad and unfortunate.
