UNILAG Sports Director Dr. Cecilia Arinye has charged female students to excel in the Sports Essay competition tagged Youth Sports Media.
Dr. Arinye disclosed this recently in a chat with www.simag.com.ng at her office inside the Sports Complex of UNILAG.
"It is quite unfortunate that in this part of the world it is difficult to find sizeable numbers of female Sports Analysts" Arinye started.
"If you go to the western world, you will find more women performing than what we have in Nigeria in area of Sports Analysis. And I believe that this programme will influence the females students to excel" she added.
She also craved to know why her former school Holy Child College was not participating. And was informed that until approval is gotten from the Directorate of Catholic Archdiocese before all Catholic Schools can take part.
Arinye is the first black woman to officiate in table tennis event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014. And also at the 2016 Rio Summer Paralympics Games .
