Eguma disclosed this in a chat with Sports Intelligence Magazine ahead of their weekend clash with Enyimba in Port Harcourt.
When confronted with the statistics that showed that each time Rivers United scored two goals against Enyimba in Port Harcourt, the visitors always scored one, Eguma said:
“No two games are the same”. “The Rivers United of that time when these statistics came up is different from the Rivers United of today”.
“Moreover, the competitions in which they met are also different”. “This is a a CAF Confederations Cup match and not NPFL” he added.
On overturning the 1-0 first-leg deficit, Coach Stanley Eguma told Sports Intelligence Magazine:
“Nothing is impossible”. “If Enyimba can score one goal and win the match at their home, we can do same”. “In fact, we can even score more than one goal”.
Coach Eguma further told Sports Intelligence Magazine that his side are preparing well ahead of the weekend clash and hope to give their best in the encounter.
Reacting to Governor Wike’s support to the team, Eguma who appreciated the governor’s magnanimity said:
“The governor has done so much in giving motivational support towards the team“. “This is to make the team put in their best and it is possible”.
“Motivations can go a long way in making the team give more than their best and am sure that is what the governor is trying to achieve”.
“The players are looking forward to impress the governor and am sure that is what we want to achieve as a squad”
Rivers United host Enyimba on Saturday in Port Harcourt. They will be hoping to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit at home in the CAF Confederations Cup.
