Lobi Stars will later today November 24 3:30 lock horns with defending champions 3SC in the final match of Dapo Abiodun preseason Cup inside the mainbowl of Dipo Dina international Stadium Ijebu-Ode.
The final game will be approached by Lobi Stars with a grudge. 3SC are in Ijebu-Ode as defending champions having won the first edition of the tournament.
The Coach Kabiru Dogo tutored boys scandalously lost to 3SC in the semi finals of last edition and will not be leaving anything to chance not to concede a serial defeat in the hands of a lower division club.
The two clubs have demonstrated strength in opposite directions, while 3SC has proven in the tournament to be a high scoring side with eight goals conceding three in five games, Lobi Stars has proved on the other side to be a low goal conceding team by scoring six goals and conceding one from five games with an eye for wining. The pride of Benue remains the only team to win all their games in the tournament.
Available records have shown that, Lobi Stars have not allow an equalizer having played 10 games in the two tournaments losing only one game in the semi final in the last tournament.
Though 3SC will be a hard nut to crack, considering the fact that they have a good team and a tremendous fan base in the west here.
Speaking to Coach Kabiru Dogo after the semi final game on why he drastically changed the team that won the quarter final game, he said first the players that played against Kwara United are also Lobi Stars players and should be tested on a big stage too, secondly he rested his first team players for the final game as the quarter final game was energy sapping. Coach Dogo was speaking with an air of assurance of a winner.
