Algeria Beat Nigeria In First Ever Friendly To Level Up On Head-To-Head

African Champions Algeria, confirmed their superiority over the Super Eagles of Nigeria with a 1-0 victory in their first ever international friendly.

Bensebaini Ramy's goal in 6 minutes clipped the Super Eagles wings, as Gernot Rohr's men failed to comeback.

The Desert Warriors were the better side in the match, they were more technical and determined.

Though it was an international friendly game in Austria, the North Africans who recently edged the West African side in the semifinal of the 2019 AFCON got their first ever back-to-back against Nigeria since 1990.

The victory means Algeria have now leveled-up with Nigeria, with both teams having 9 wins each and 3 draws.

Westerhof lost two AFCON matches against Algeria at the Algiers 1990, 5-1 in group stage and 1-0 in final. But he went on to beat Algeria in October 1993 by 4-1 to qualify the Super Eagles for their first ever World Cup in USA.

However, Rohr who beat Algeria in November 2016 to qualify the Super Eagles for the Russia 2018 World Cup, failed twice afterwards
