The Edo State Football Association has suspended Timi Afolayan of Rolly FC for a period of Six Months from all Edo FA organized competitions. The decision came following a protest letter raised by Bendel Insurance against the eligibility of the player in a quarterfinal Edo Federation match against them. The Disciplinary Committee in her ruling found out that Timi Afolayan had earlier played for J Atete in the same competition but claimed that his last club was Rolly FC. Moreover, further investigations revealed that jersey No 4 of the team list of Rolly FC as shown in the 2022 Edo FA Federation Cup license has Timi F and not Timi Afolayan as claimed by the player and Rolly FC.. Hence the Edo State FA hammered Timi Afolayan with a Six month suspension from all football competitions organized by the Edo FA while Rolly FC forfeits the match irrespective of the outcome of the result during play. Bendel Insurance is now expected to play in the semifinal of the Edo Federation Cup.
