Gerald Pique has admitted he could come out of retirement to represent Spain at the Summer Tokyo 2020 Olympics according to reports from eurosport.com
The 32-year-old Barcelona centre-back announced his retirement from international football after the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup after having issues with fans
However, eurosport.com reported that in an interview with Cadena SER, Pique hinted that he could reverse that decision.
"You never know, you never know," he said.
"In life you don't have to discard anything. I've never ruled out anything in life. It can happen. Why not? I don't like to close the doors on anything."
The Olympic teams allow three over aged players and this could be an opportunity for the Barcelona defender to play since Spain captain Sergio Ramos' declared he will not turn down a spot in Tokyo.
