Despite the global suspension of football and sporting activities, the German Bundesliga now seem ready to resume with the body in charge looking forward to May 9 as possible resumption date.

According to reports from BBC Sport, "The German Football League (DFL), responsible for operating the Bundesliga and the second division, is determined to finish the current season. Its 36 professional clubs met on Thursday to discuss a restart of the season next month".

The source further disclosed that DFL chief executive Christian Seifert who disclosed this on Thursday, hinted that the matches will have to start without spectators.

"For us, what is decisive is what the politicians will decide. It is not for us to decide when"."Games without spectators are not what we want - but at the moment the only thing that seems feasible."

Although the DFL will be faced with several challenges amongst which includes dividing the stadiums into sections to accommodate a certain number of fans according to standard set by the German government, but they will still have to discuss on modalities with with the government and get approval for it.
