The National President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Sir Honour Sirawoo has been elevated as permanent secretary in the Rivers State Service Commission.
The swearing-in ceremony which was done by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State at the Government house in Port Harcourt, also saw other new appointee take oath of office.
Sirawoo who commented after him and 17 others were sworn-in by Govenor Wike (Power of Sports) described it as a call to service.
“Being elevated to the position of a permanent secretary is a call to greater service to the government and people of Rivers State”.
“Having been allowed to get to this level, you should know naturally that it is a call for better services, because as a civil servant, you owe the state responsibility, you owe the governor, who is the leader of the state responsibility, you also owe yourself and your family responsibilities too” he concluded.
Sirawoo who started his career in the State Service Commission as a Sports Editor with the Rivers State Television in 1996, has served in various capacity before his elevation as Permanent Secretary at the State Service Commission.
His wealth of experience both within and outside the Commission will be a major boost for the people of Rivers State, as he takes up this lofty task with the aim of making a positive impact in his service to the people.
