Nigeria’s Dorcas Adesokan who had a sensational 2-0 victory over Egyptian Hadia Hosny during the just concluded Lagos International Badminton Classic, has ascribed her win to her knowledge of her opponent's weakness.
Speaking exclusively to www.simag.com.ng after the victory, Dorcas Said:
"First I know who I want to play and I guess she is no 3 in Africa", Dorcas started. "I have played with her severally and I think I know her weak points". "So I worked on her weakness and took advantage of that to come out victorious", she said.
Dorcas who is also Africa’s no one came from behind in the first game to get her first win of the two games by 21-18, before securing another 21-16 victory in the second game to grab the 2-0 victory.
The lanky fair-skinned Africa's no 1 subjected her Egyptian counterpart to lots of throw-around in the clash which she eventually won. Confirming she was quite knowledgeable about the weakness of the Egyptian.
She also did not fail to add that constant training and exposure to tournaments also played a major role towards her success in the clash, particularly as she was recently coming from Ghana where she had a tour.
When asked to comment on what the Lagos International Badminton Classics holds for her future, Dorcas said :
“So much is on ground in this tournament". "This tournament also serve as a qualification for the Olympics and its going to add a lot of points to me”.“Once I move to the second and third round of this tournament, it’s a big boost for my world ranking and I am happy for that” she concluded
